Dynamic prep time is a feature that is intended to generate a more accurate prep time on an order-by-order basis, with a request-response structure that will ask your POS APIs for a prep time/pickup time. Before checkout, partner will receive a prep-time request that includes cart details (either just items, or items and modifiers), your POS/middleware will send a response with an ready_for response in the format of a timestamp. The response from your APIs can be very flexible based off the information/technical capabilities within your systems. Typically this will consult conditions such as order contents, current order volume, or an external scheduler.

If your restaurant struggles with courier holds, or it has been difficult to find a static prep time that works for your kitchen, the Dynamic Prep Time feature can help make better connections for customers and couriers.

For partners who want to use Dynamic Food Prep Time, JET Connect is going to create a bespoke service to communicate with their system.

Whether you already have a system in place that can take in a list of items in an order and return the approximate prep time, or you will need to build something, Jet Connect's engineering team and your

dev team can define the API specs. A suggestion for such a service would be:
